Custom made drapery tailored to your
lifestyle in the Bay of Plenty

Exceptional drapes and blinds don’t begin and end with the materials used. It comes down to the people using the materials and the level of care taken when designing. With Quality Curtains involved in your project you always receive the very best. For helpful tips and more on what we do for our clients in the Bay of Plenty please read our FAQs below.

How long does it take?

We allow four weeks for manufacturing, depending on fabric availability. If availability is a problem we can often provide a temporary solution.

How much does it cost?

If you are budgeting on 2% to 3% of the value of your property you will achieve a finish that will do justice to your home. Spend time thinking about what style and function the curtains and blinds are required to perform (warmth, light control, privacy, aesthetic).

What should I do in the early stages of my building project?

When you have your plans drawn look at where the drapes can be stacked. Then back off the window and check that there is still room for the wall furniture. As a rule of thumb allow a minimum of 10% of the window size each side of the window for drapes (e.g. for two metre window allow 20cm each side.) If you’re using a home automation system we can advise your electrician in the necessary cabling.
What should I use for linings?

Our minimum recommendation is to use a 50/50 polycotton lining as a direct protection for drape fabrics. 100% polyester lining is good in humid conditions where condensation is a concern, as it is mildew resistant. Thermal linings are useful as a barrier for temperature control and blackout linings for total light control.

How much do tracks cost?

Tracks range from $15 - $50 a metre for a strong aluminium powder coated track with a selection of brackets and drawcords. Wood and iron rods, including finials, start at $40 per metre.
